Training for JY Coordinators
It hasn't been an easy few months and yet, it has been the best few months in so many ways. Since December 2008, i've had this feeling of having been blessed at each point with everything that was happening to me and i still feel that way.
Being part of the junior youth program again gives me great pleasure to be working alongside the giants of this country...the spiritual giants. Youth, at a juncture where there are many choices for them to choose from, challenging as any youth anywhere needs to face, and they choose to serve.
This weekend is the start of a 2-week training for coordinators of junior youth program in 6 clusters. Following that is another 3-week training with another group of coordinators from 5 other clusters. If you're wondering, they can't mix cos the first group is at its initial stages of implementing the program while the second group is faced with 20 to 40 junior youth groups in their clusters.
I am a bunch of nerves because at moments like this i feel weak and afraid because i can only do what i know... and not the 10 other things i am trying to do that i don't know how yet cos i haven't done it before. I do know that learning all i can from reading and attending training don't mean a thing until i do something with it and i will have many lessons to learn in these coming weeks. I pray for strength, guidance, faith and that i live these words down:
"...I am Thy servant, O my Lord, and the son of Thy servant. Behold me standing ready to do Thy will and Thy desire, and wishing naught else except Thy good pleasure. ..."
- Baha'u'llah -
The following pictures were taken during the last training in March 2009. This same group will be coming back for a reflection and to further their learning. Then, we have plans to spend at least a week in each of their clusters to accompany them through their service.
Study on certain documents about the work of a coordinator
Practical examples of planning for the program within their own clusters
Engaged in learning

Nightly sessions of reflection and sharing

Visits to animators and family of junior youth within the villages in Battambang (the learning site)
