Lancelin

Lancelin is calm and laid back...We stayed at Lancelin Lodge which is a backpackers place owned by Craigs mum, Trish and her husband, Trevor. In the 1.5 days we were there, we hit the beach, played in the swimming pool, went to the sand dunes to watch the sunset (and a rising moon!) and did the Dessert Storm Ride and sandboarding.

Well, this is the best beach i've been to in 5 years!!! Hmmnn, actually i'm not sure about the beach 'cos i was in the water the WHOLE time...which also explains why i have so few pictures to put up...again, please check out Grete's blog. The waves were great for body boarding and getting trashed in the water...after 1 hour, i'm exhausted but that wouldn't stop me from going back into the waves :)

All in a day's fun...

Grete had just moved into a new house the day before i arrived and the first day i was there we unpacked her stuff, tidied up the house a bit and did grocery shopping to stock up her house (and some for myself, too). We also had a BBQ in her backyard with Craig, Lisa (my cousin) and Jessica (my niece). Oh, and we also went clubbing with her work-mates that night. What a day, huh??!!! I wasn't in the habit of using my camera yet, so please check out Grete's blog for pictures.

Over the next few days, we had taken a bus to the city's shopping streets and walked about for a whole afternoon, had a picnic with Lisa at King's Park (pictures below), visited Lisa's house,

Bilateral Endoscopic Intranasal Antrostomy

We (the family) received news from Grete that she had been having massive headaches for months and after many visits to the doctor, it turned out her sinuses were all clogged up. So, she had to do this Bilateral Endoscopic Intranasal Antrostomy treatment to get better. Since mummy's all the way in Vienna, I was the delegated sister to 'take care' of Grete...and thanks to Fay, Lani and Krisflyer, I made my way to Perth, Australia on 18 November.

As anyone who knows Grete will know that she dislikes people fussing about her, along with the heavy warnings from mum and sisters not to say anything to upset her...i ended up having a holiday instead of doing much 'taking care' as i thought i would. Well, at least i hung around the clinic for the 4 hours she was in surgery and getting over the painkillers.

Here are some pics of our dearly loved baby sister...as she will always be to me. It was heart-wrenching to see her looking like this..but her spirits were up by afternoon! I admire her courage (going through all this while trying to smile) and determination (as she's still on the nicotine patches, everyone!)

Thailand - Last days

As mentioned earlier, i spent the last 3 days in Thailand with Fay Fay che che. We met up in Bangkok on 23rd afternoon...as usual, she's there for work but at least we could spend some time together. We did some shopping, then had dinner with her friends and colleagues, then went to Suan Lum night market and finally, a massage before bed...i'm lucky to have such loving sisters who pamper me a lot.

She had a training session in Pattaya and i already decided to tag along... I was hoping to spend some time by the beach or in the pool...whichever was most appealing but unfortunately, the strectch of beach where we stayed was deserted...i still can't believe that i only spent 20 minutes throughout that 'beach' holiday in the waters...sigh.

But, all was not lost since che che and i had a splendid dinner together and walked by the 'fake' beach at the hotel, spent some time looking at stars and listening to the waves...which she admitted she'd never bother with if i wasn't there. How typical! Anyway, here are some pics..
